Overview & Dates
Who: Advanced singers grades 7-12 from across central NC
Process: Audition on October 15, rehearse in the spring, perform on March 27
Requirements:
- Practice on your own in between rehearsals. We will provide practice tracks.
- Rehearsals are mandatory. Excused-absence requests will be considered with advance notice of two weeks. Earlier notice is appreciated when possible.
- Excessive absences can result in dismissal from the group.
- The dress rehearsal is mandatory and cannot be excused.
- Please note, the event takes place at the end of spring break for Guilford County Schools and some surrounding counties.
Concert
- Saturday, March 27, 2027, 7:30pm, call time 3:00pm
- Attire: Concert black.
- Discount tickets for families will be made available from the Greensboro Symphony. We will share information when it is available.

- Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
- Audition material:
- 5-minute auditions
- A prepared 60 second choral excerpt (details below)
- A brief vocalization (simple exercises we’ll teach you to hear timbre, range, intonation, etc.)
- Results
- Will be sent via email by Thursday, October 22.
Prepared Choral Excerpt
- Prepare your vocal line from Mark Miller’s “I Believe.” Practice tracks and a pdf of the excerpt are linked here.
- OR, if you auditioned for NC Honors Chorus, you have the option to use the same audition piece. We’ll hear an excerpt of approximately 60 seconds, starting at the beginning.
Per Student Contribution:
- $10 audition fee; $30 participation fee
- At INSPIRO, our staff, volunteers, and student leaders work diligently in grant-writing, sponsorships, and fundraising so that our offerings can be equitable to the whole community. Still, student contributions are a necessity for our organization to thrive. With access among our a highest values, our fundraising structure enables us to set student fees significantly less expensive than similar organizations in our region.
